LOTO, Cleaning, Maintenance
Pneumatic and Electrical LOTO
The blender should be pneumatically and electrically locked out prior to any
Cleaning/Maintenance/Repair of the blender.
Pneumatic Lockout/Tagout Points
Disconnect compressed air supply before
performing Cleaning/Maintenance/Repair. If the
weigh scale blender is equipped with a manually
operated pneumatic valve actuator, use this
lockout/tagout valve to perform a pneumatic
lockout/tagout. If the blender is connected directly
to an air supply, it must be disconnected from the
air supply. After full LOTO has been employed on
the blender, there is a possibility that the pneumatic
system may still contain stored or residual air
pressure, therefore prior to any maintenance, repair
or cleaning, Maintenance Engineers must manually
dissipate any stored/residual energy from the
Pneumatic system, via the Manual Operations
screen using the Weigh Bin button.
Electrical Lockout/Tagout Points
Disconnect electric before performing any
Cleaning/Maintenance/Repair. If the weigh scale blender
is equipped with an electrical LOTO box, use the lockout
tagout switch to perform the power lockout/tagout. On
110v blenders, unplug the 110v electric plug from the
electric source and use a Plug Lockout to lockout the
machine.
Cleaning Procedure with LOTO
1. Material Removal
Cleaning and maintenance procedures may require the evacuation of material from
blender prior to LOTO. In the event that material needs to be evacuated, use optional
clean-out drain tubes and/or drain chutes to evacuate the material in conjunction with
Manual Operations. Material is stored in the following locations: material hoppers
including hopper extensions and feeder hoppers, weigh bin, and mix chamber including
multi-stage mix chambers.
