The right match between the power
feeder and the machine tool must
be made by a skilled operator,
experienced in wood processing
machines (for instance circular
saws, spindle moulders, thicknes-
ser planers).
The power feeder must be fastened
onto the machine
’
s main surface,
and not onto surfaces considered
unstable. The bed surface onto
which the support base must be
assembled, must be secure and
stable. The support surfaces are
made of cast iron and steel. They
must be not be less than 20 mm
thick.
The power feeder is not suited for
use outdoors or in rooms at risk of
explosion.
It can be assembled, operated,
maintained and repaired only by
trained and authorized personnel.
The power feeder must only be con-
nected to the electric board of the ma-
chine tool or to the special power plug
provided on the machine for the han-
dling devices. Such plugs are con-
nected to the machine control so that,
when stopping the machine tool normal-
ly or in an emergency, the power supply
to the feeder plug is cut off. The plug
must be provided with a safety device
against overloads and connate to the
trip and/or release safety devices that
protect the machine tool from undervol-
tages. Observe the relevant accident
-
prevention regulations and any other
generally accepted tecnical rules and
procedures concerned with the protec-
tion of workers health and safety. To
use the machine in accordante with the
applicable regulations, also consult the
instruction book before installing the
machine. The power feeder must be
used only in the manner described in
this instruction manual. Any other use is
considered illegitimate and therefore
prohibited. The consequence of resul-
ting damage in not responsibility of the
manufacturer.

1 SAFETY RULES
The power feeder has been designed
to work on traditional machines
(spindle
moulders,
thicknesser
planers, circular saws, etc.), to feed
wood planks and strips, as well as
MDF and veneered panels.
As there is an infinite number of
manufacturers of traditional machine
tools in the world, it is impossibile to
draw a list and match them with the
right types of power feeders.
The selection of the right type of
power feeder to be fitted onto each
machine closely depends on the
following information:
-
feeder motor power
-
roll feeding speed
-
number of rolls
-
size of rolls (diameter and width)
-
hardness of roll rubber
-
length of the horizontal column of the
support
-
weight of the power feeder as a
function of the weight of the machine
tool.
