Spare Parts and Replacement Procedures 8 - 15
DC Inductor (L2)
1. Remove CM1 option board as described in “Remove CM1
Option Board.”
2. Remove the complete CBA1 bracket assembly as
described in Steps 1 through 3 of as in “DC Circuit
Breaker (CBA1) and Bracket.” (Not necessary in 24-volt
unit.)
3. Remove CA1 board from support standoffs as described in
Steps 2 and 3 of “CA1 Snubber Board.”
4. Remove thyristor Q1 mounting bracket, with Q1 attached,
by removing the two mounting nuts on the side wall. (Not
necessary in 24-volt version.)
5. Remove the L2 lead from terminal block TB2.
6. Remove the diode heat sink as described in “Diode Heat
Sink Assembly,” and move the heat sink out of the way to
the left.
7. Remove the two quick-disconnect connectors from shunt
R3 mounted on the center of the bracket holding the dc
capacitors. The quick-disconnect leads go to the small +
and - capacitor bus bars.
8. Remove the two nuts that secure the dc capacitor bracket
to the center mounting plate.
9. Rotate the top of the capacitor/bus bar assembly forward
until the capacitor terminal screws, through the bus bars,
can be accessed.
10. Remove the other lead, coming from L2, from the negative
capacitor bus bar.
11. Remove the four mounting nuts holding L2 to the center
mounting plate, and remove L2.
DANGER
DC capacitors may be charged even with power disconnected
from the rectifier. This would be true if the main bus bar fuses
are open. Always check all of the dc capacitor terminals
(observe polarity) with a voltmeter before performing this
procedure, and discharge capacitors in a safe manner.
