Note that four Actions to the same alarm are now listed in the Actions window of the Motion
Detection Alarm window.
3.3.6.4 Activate
X-10
To add an action that controls X-10 devices such as lights and other electrical outlets as a
result of motion detection, select
Control X-10 devices
from the Add Action drop-down box
in the Motion Detection Alarm window and press Add. You will see the following dialog:
House Code
: Selectable from A to P
Device Code
: Selectable from 1-16
Command
: ON, OFF or DIM
Percent Dim
: When “DIM” is selected for the command, a percentage of dimness can be
entered here.
Port
: Selectable ports include COM 1 – COM 4
Strategic Vista, the manufacturer of Digital Video Security System is
not affiliated in any way with X-10. You will need to contact X-10
directly to purchase the “Firecracker” and other X-10 devices.
In order to use the X-10 capabilities, you need to purchase a CM17A X-
10 wireless computer interface (Home Automation System), otherwise
known by its nickname “FireCracker”. The FireCracker device is a
small connector that plugs into the Serial port of your computer and
transmits an RF signal to an X-10 receiver, TM751 that is plugged into
the wall. Consult with X-10 to see what other feature / options can be
made available through X-10 for use with Digital Video Security
System.
Enter the House and Device Codes that, in combination, might identify the lights in the front
of the store. You may either input the code values using your keyboard, or select the
desired value from the drop down boxes to the right of each field. (For details about valid
