Validation
The eEM performs validation of the entries made in the Installation window, in
order to prevent anomalous definitions (e.g., equipment configurations not supported
in the NE hardware, illegal IP addresses). Table
5-1 lists some of the validation
sequences inherent in the Installation window.

TEX Type
The values MS and RS are only valid if
TEX = TRS.

DCC Operation
Mode Auxiliary
Any value other than NONE is valid only if DCC
Operation Mode - Auxiliary =
MS or RS.

TRIB Type
Any value other than NONE is valid only if TRIB Type
= TRIB2-21E.
TEX Type
Usage state of
existing TEX
card
If the original value of the TEX Type is other than
NONE, changing this parameter value is only allowed if
the Usage State attribute of the TEX card is IDLE (i.e.,
no cross connections exist on it).
DCC Interface IP

Mask
IP Interface
Configuration
The DCC IP address and subnet mask must be
configured if IP Interface Configuration = DCC Only
NE or Gateway NE.
If IP Interface Configuration = Ethernet Only NE, these
assignments apply:
DCC IP address and subnet mask receive values of
Ethernet IP address and subnet mask

The Ethernet IP address and subnet mask must be
configured if the IP Interface Configuration = Ethernet

If the IP Interface Configuration = DCC Only NE, these

DCC Interface IP
Subnet Mask
Each of these parameter-pairs must form a valid IP
address/subnet mask pair, which defines a Host address.
To comply, the mask must be valid for the class of the
address, and the resulting Host ID bits must not be "all
0" or "all 1".
