3.3.1 Site Preparation
Perform a preliminary survey of the installation site to consider:
♦
System environmental requirements.
♦
Physical location of the
µ
SDM-1 cabinet.
♦
Location of the power sources.
♦
Types of interfaces used at the site (optical connectors, tributaries, etc).
3.3.2 Environmental Requirements
The following environmental conditions are applicable to the
µ
SDM-1 system and to
the site of its installation:
Condition
Compliance Reference
Electromagnetic
Interference
Complies with EN 55022/94, EN 50082-1/92 standards.
Temperature (Indoor)

Choose the physical location of the
µ
SDM-1 cabinet, taking the following aspects
into consideration:
1. There are three types of
µ
SDM-1 multiplexers:
♦
µ
SDM-1RD supporting 8 E1 interfaces.
♦
µ
SDM-1 supporting 21 E1 interfaces.
♦
µ
SDM-1E supporting 21 E1 interfaces; upgradable to 63 E1 interfaces via
TEX expansion card.
2. The
µ
SDM-1 can be wall mounted, installed in a rack, in an indoor cabinet or
in a street cabinet.
3. Rack mounted equipment must be installed in a rack which complies with
the fire enclosure requirements of EN60950.
