Intel C202 chip
The Intel C202 chip on the system board serves as a platform controller hub (PCH), which provides the data
buffering and interface arbitration required to ensure that system interfaces operate efficiently and provides
the bandwidth necessary for the system to achieve peak performance. The chip supports and provides
many features, including the onboard SATA software RAID.

Used to connect the cable of the lower front system fan (front system fan 1).

SATA connectors
Used to connect SATA signal cables for the SATA hard disk drives or SATA optical drives.

ThinkServer Management Module Premium connector
Used to connect a ThinkServer Management Module Premium option, which is a kind of remote management
module, to enable the ThinkServer Management Module Premium function on your server. See “Installing or
removing the ThinkServer Management Module Premium” on page 114.

Internal USB 2.0 Type A connector
Used to connect a device that uses a USB Type A connector.

Internal dual-port USB 2.0 connector 2
Used to connect the USB cable of the RDX USB drive bundle (server option).

Used to connect the front panel USB cable.

System board battery
Your server has a special type of memory that maintains the date, time, and configuration information for
built-in features. The system board battery keeps the information active when you turn off the server.

Front panel connector
Used to connect the front panel cable.

System board jumper blocks
Used to configure the system board and your server. See “System board jumpers” on page 48.

SATA SGPIO connector
Used to connect the SGPIO port of the mini-SAS signal cable with four SATA ports and one SGPIO port to
enable the RAID status LEDs for hot-swap hard disk drives.

Hard-disk-drive LED connector
Used to connect a 2-pin 200 mm (7.87 inches) RAID card to system board hard-disk-drive LED cable. See
“Connecting the cables” on page 39.
