Attention:
Before you start installing the wireless WAN card, touch a metal table or a grounded metal object.
This action reduces any static electricity from your body. Static electricity could damage the card.
To replace the wireless WAN card, do the following:
1. Turn off your computer and disconnect the ac power adapter and all cables from the computer.
2. Disable the built-in battery. See “Disabling the built-in battery” on page 119.
3. Close the computer display and turn the computer over.
4. Remove the base cover assembly. See “Replacing the base cover assembly” on page 123.
5. A tool might be provided with the new wireless WAN card to help you disconnect cables from the
wireless WAN card. If no such a tool is provided, hold the cable connector with your fingers and gently
disconnect each cable from the wireless WAN card.
6. Remove the screw. The wireless WAN card is released from the secured position and pivots upward.
Then remove the card.
7. Align the contact edge of the new wireless WAN card with the key in the slot. Then carefully insert the
new wireless WAN card into the slot. Then install the screw to secure the card.
