This chapter contains information on maximizing the performance of the scanner and the quality of its
images by following a regular maintenance schedule.
CAUTION:
When cleaning and servicing a scanner with the access door open, to prevent injury to the
operator that can occur when a scan is initiated, first press the main power switch on the back of the
scanner to the Off (0) position and disconnect the power cord to the scanner.

Open a slide image in Aperio ImageScope DX to verify that the monitors
are working properly. Verify that there are no flickering or artifacts on the
display and no damage to the display.
