Chapter 2: Startup and Shutdown
Changing the McAfee Disk Encryption Password
We recommend changing the disk encryption utility password every few months to protect the Aperio AT2 DX Control
Station disk contents. (For more cybersecurity recommendations, see

.)
1.
On the main McAfee login window, select the
Change password
check box and then log in with your current
password.
2.
On the change password window, enter your new password in the
New password
text box and type it again in
the
Confirm password
text box.
3.
Click
OK
.
You cannot use a password that you’ve previously used.
If you forget the current password, contact Leica Biosystems Technical Services for assistance.
System Shutdown
To shut down the scanner:
1.
Press the main power switch on the back of the scanner to the Off (O) position.
2.
Close all scanner software applications and any additional Windows applications that are open.
3.
Click the Windows
Start
button and select
Shut Down
.
4.
Select
Shutdown
from the window and click
OK
.
5.
Turn off the viewing monitors.
We advise leaving the scanner instrument powered on unless it is to be idle for more than four days.
