Permitted Hoist Lifting Points
Refer to Figure 1-7 & Figure 1-8:
WARNING
!
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
Always use the approved hook points, identified with
decals, when lifting the mower with straps and/or chains.
Using unapproved lift points can cause the load to shift or
fall creating a hazardous situation.
•
Damaged hoist pins, hooks, and chains are extremely
dangerous as they may fail instantaneously without
warning.
•
Scrap any damaged (twisted, stretched, dented, corroded
etc.) hoisting accessories immediately to prevent the risk of
others using them without being aware of the danger.
•
Never use previously used hoisting accessories unless you
are certain that they are in perfect working order.
•
The top link lateral adjustment cylinder on the 72" and 78"
flail mowers must be fully retracted before hoisting the unit.
CAUTION
!
To prevent serious injury:
Remove any accessories installed on the implement before
lifting it.
The following guidelines should be followed at all times:
•
The lifting chain or straps must NEVER exceed an
angle of 45° relative to the vertical.
•
The lifting accessories used must be in proper working
order and of suitable load capacity for the weight of the
machine or parts lifted.
•
Keep the work area clear of materials, objects and
persons when lifting and handling the machine.
•
When lifting, handling and transporting the machine,
take all precautions necessary to prevent the load from
falling and/or prevent the lifting equipment from
overturning.
•
All personnel, including the operator, must remain at a
safe distance. The safety distance must also allow for
risks due to exceptional events such as the failure of a
chain or lifting eye-bolt, causing the load to overturn.
•
Use only the hoist lifting points illustrated to lift the
Offset Flail Mower. Make sure the lateral adjustment
cylinder (#1) is fully retracted before lifting the flail
mower.
•
When using a crane or other suitable hoisting
equipment, the implement must be secured correctly at
the specific hoisting points as shown in the figures.
•
Install hoisting clevis and hitch pins in the specific
holes. Make sure the clevis and hitch pins are are
secured in place.
