Hydraulic Hook-up
Refer to Figure 1-19:
WARNING
!
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
Stop the tractor and release the pressure from the hydraulic
system before starting any work on the hydraulic system.
•
Hydraulic fluid under high pressure will penetrate the skin
or eyes causing a serious injury. Wear protective gloves and
safety glasses or goggles when working with hydraulic
systems. Use a piece of cardboard or wood rather than
hands when searching for leaks. If an accident occurs, seek
immediate emergency medical care or gangrene may result.
h
An example of how the information is indicated on the
hydraulic hoses is provided in Figure 1-19.
For more information on connecting the hydraulic hoses
to the tractor, see the hose connection decal applied to
the flail mower.
Hydraulic Hose Information

IMPORTANT:
The hydraulic system's hoses are
marked with the following information: maximum
pressure, manufacturer, production date, reference
code.

Hydraulic Identification By Cap Colors
Figure 1-20
Refer to Figure 1-20:
The hoses are identified by different colored bands,
depending on their use.
1. To connect correctly, refer to the colored caps
protecting the quick connect couplers:
•
Red Caps (#1): Hoses for incline adjustment.
•
Blue Caps (#2): Hoses for lateral adjustment.
2. Connect the quick release couplings with red
caps (#1) to the duplex outlet on the tractor
designated for operating the incline adjustment.
3. Connect the quick release couplings with blue
caps (#2) to the duplex outlet on the tractor
designated for operating the lateral adjustment.

4. Make sure that the hydraulic connections between
the mower and the tractor are set to not float and the
cylinders will not move while the control levers are
not being operated.

IMPORTANT:
•
The lateral cylinder must always be set to not float.
•
The incline cylinder must be set to not float except
it may be set to float only while operating the
mower with the flail head on the ground.
