Lay plate 16-1 onto liner making sure the rabbet fit is aligned. Install and tighten washers, gaskets and nuts (400.02,
550.02, 50-7.02, 543.02, 920.02, and 920.03/05) to studs using a cross torque technique (see sample sequence in
figure below).
Torque to 100-300 ft-lbs (135-405 N-m) all nuts and jam nuts on installation studs (920.02 and 920.03/05) to secure
liner and eliminate leakage around washers. Do not over-tighten! Excessive torque may damage sealing gasket
(400.02).
1
Clean sealing surfaces
Suction plate sealing and gasket surfaces should be clean and free of dirt or grease. Clean areas around fasteners,
suction flange face and liner face using wire brush and/or solvent, if necessary.
Coat pusher bolt threads with light oil or anti-seize and install the pusher bolts (901.04) with nuts and washers (50-
7.04, 543.04, and 920.04) into corresponding taps (see illustration below). Tighten pusher bolts until snug. Tighten nuts
(920.04) to 100-300 ft-lbs (135-405 N-m) to eliminate leakage around washers.
1
Pusher Bolts
To simplify adjustment of liner, mark head of pusher bolts at 12 o’clock position with pusher bolts tight. Mark plate at
12 and 6 o’clock positions, or at desired adjustment interval. See attached “Regular adjustment schedule” in this manual
for adjustment procedure.
If applicable, install plugs (hex-head cap screw and Stat-o-Seal washer at locations 901.05/50-7.05 or NPT pipe plugs
at location 903.07/08) into remaining taps. Not all kits require plugs. See BOM (Bill of Materials) for plug details.
