Power On Self Test (POST)
At each system initialization a power-on-self-test (POST) must be preformed. The POST will
include the following blocks:
Power – Check status of AC and battery power supplies.
COM – Check DTR status to determine REMOTE/LOCAL mode.
Printer – If printer connected and on-line, write a dedicated string to printer.
LEDs – Turn on all LEDs.

RCI5000™ Operation
The RCI5000 starts operating as soon as it is connected to the AC mains or to its internal backup
battery.
At startup the RCI5000 retrieves from its memory all required system parameters and initializes
some other parameters.
At startup the RCI5000 checks its status as following:

Checks number of communication boards connected to its communication channels.

Checks if PC is connected to determine LOCAL or REMOTE mode.

Checks power status.

Checks printer status.
The RCI5000 can
be operated through its front panel. The RCI5000 menu is composed from up-
to two screens; main screen is the setting and global functions screen and the other screen is the
communication channel screen. The main screen has a menu that looks as following:
