Pressing MODE key enters to manual mode. According to the system mode status a
confirmation message will be displayed. If system mode is remote a confirmation for local will
be required and vice versa. For example, system is in local mode and the user press MODE
key. The following message will be displayed “Switching to REMOTE” then the confirmation
message “Sure? <CONF><ESC>”. Press CONF key to confirm or ESC to cancel. If CONF is
pressed a REMOTE message will be displayed on the LCD and Remote Communication led
will turn on.
Notes:
-
If for some reason RCI5000 does not receive DTR signal from the PC he will revert automatically to
local mode.
-
If COM protocol is set off, COM port will be disabled and RCI5000 will work only in local mode.
-
When the RCI5000 switches from local to remote mode all messages in received message buffers that
have not been sent to PC before will be sent to the PC and CONF LED and sound will be turned off.
-
If for some reason the RCI5000 does not receive ACK signal from the PC for a sent message it will
try to send it again two additional times and after that if it still does not receive ACK it will store this
message in the local buffer and will not exit remote mode. RCI5000 will try to send it again when
other messages will be transferred successfully.
-
If PC needs to be restart when RCI5000 is connected, it’s strongly recommended to switch RCI5000
to local mode before restarting the PC. After PC is restarted user can switch RCI5000 to remote
mode again.

Interrogation
Interrogation function is used only in security and telemetry applications (LARS, LARS1,
RCMS and etc.).
o
The RCI5000 can send an automatic interrogation message to any interrogatable
transmitter/repeater in the network. The RCI5000 supports up to: 1,000 addresses of
interrogatable units. Interrogation messages can be sent manually by pressing TX TEXT key or
automatically by setting a Two-Way table, and setting the ‘Automatic Interrogation’
parameters.
The RCI5000 sends an interrogation message to the end unit and expects to receive a response
within 15 seconds. An OK message with station address will be displayed if station answers
back, and if not an NR (No Response) message with station address will be displayed, and sent
to COM and Printer ports.
