Principal of Operation
The RCI5000™ receives messages from remote transmitters or repeaters. It decodes them,
displays the information on its LCD, and sends it to the printer and PC in the control center
for further processing and display.
All RCI5000 setup parameters are software-based (no dipswitches).
The RCI5000has two modes of operation: local and remote.
In local mode, the RCI5000 operates as a stand-alone unit. It receives messages from remote
stations, alerts the operator to each incoming message by sounding a buzzer, displays the
messages, and stores up to 200 messages in its memory stack. Messages can be reviewed at a
later time in FIFO order.
In remote mode, messages received by the RCI5000™ are automatically transferred to the
automation software. In case of PC failure, the RCI5000 automatically reverts to local mode.
