It is also possible to turn off or on the port regardless if PC is connected or not. By default

3.2.3.3
Printer (PRN) Setup
The RCI5000 connects to a parallel printer to print copies of all incoming messages.
Messages are printed automatically when received. Connect the printer to the parallel port
on the rear panel of the RCI5000.
RCI5000 support Centronics printers; where on each printing the RCI5000 check the
printer status and reports if printer has a general failure such as paper end, off line and etc.
If printer has a general failure, the incoming messages will be saved in RCI’s buffer, and
when printer will be on-line again, all messages that where not sent to printer will then be
sent.
The printer can work in backup mode. When printer is set to work in backup mode,
RCI5000 will send to printer only messages that arrived after it switched to local. If for
example RCI5000 was in remote and printer in backup, and 10 messages were arrived to
RCI5000 then RCI5000 switched to local, RCI5000 will not send those 10 messages to
printer.
In case where the printer prints with one line space between each print line, it can be
removed by entering to ‘Set PRN Auto LF’ option and select No.
It is also possible to turn off or on the port regardless if printer is connected or not.
By default system is wake-up with PRN port on and not in backup mode.
Notes:
-
Do not leave printer ON when RCI5000 is OFF.
-
Do not use printer-RCI5000 communication cable longer then 1.8m.
