Keypad
The keypad is a 16 keys device that provides the operator with the standard 10-
digit numeric keypad (0-9) as well as several function keys. In addition, some
keys perform dual functions.
SHIFT – By pressing this key with number-key a special function is activated.
MODE – Toggles between LOCAL and REMOTE modes.
TX TEXT – Activate manual interrogation of end unit.
SET TIME – Enters date and time setting.
CONF – In operative and LOCAL mode when a new message arrives, the
operator confirms the received message by pressing this key.
In setup mode, by pressing this key the operator confirms the suggested option
and moves to the next step.
ESC – Stop any activity initiated by the function keys.
Dual function keys at operative mode:
SHIFT+1 – Switch to channel 1 screen.
SHIFT+CONF – Turn on/off confirmation sound (mute).
Dual function keys at setup mode:
SHIFT+0 – Opens a line of alphabetic letters (A..P), where user can select one
letter by scroll up/down and CONF keys.

LCD
The LCD has a green background and is composed of four lines and 20
alphanumeric digits on each line.
The LCD also has yellow backlight to enable work in LOCAL mode in low
light/dark conditions

Rear Panel
The RCI5000 rear panel has an AC socket for 115/220VAC-15VD, and a 1.5A 220
VAC or 3A 110 VAC fuse for circuit protection.
The RCI5000 has one serial and one USB ports for connection to a PC, a Parallel port
for a printer, and one port for connecting an external transceiver.
