Setting Color Difference Tolerances

• “MAJOR” in the L*a*b* color space will be “a*” axis when “OFFS.” and “ROTAT.” on the “a*b*”
plane are “0” (ZERO).
• To change a value that has been
set, press

the previous items, so change the
value.

If the measurement conditions (illuminant 2, observer, specular component mode,
etc.) are displayed, turn

that allows setting elliptical tolerances for illuminant 2. Set the desired elliptical
tolerances in the same way as in steps 6 and 7.

Use of the optional Color Data Software “SpectraMagic” (Ver.3.2 or higher; excluded Ver.3.5) allows you
to set elliptical tolerances using CMC coefficients or automatically set them using the target colors and some
preset values.
