1) Check that O-ring (7) is fitted to cover (2).
2) Align the cover (2) with the element.
Insert the cover (2) with vacuator valve (6) right at the
bottom into air cleaner body (5).
3) Lock the tips of clips (1) (6 places) on the protrusions
of the air cleaner body (5).
Lock the clips (1) diagonally, (top and bottom, right
and left) in the same way as when tightening the bolts.
4) When the cover (2) is installed, check that the clear-
ance between air cleaner body (5) and cover (2) is not
too large.
If the clearance is too large, remove the cover (2), and then install it again.
17. Press the button of the dust indicator and return the yellow
piston.
If the air cleaner clogging caution lamp lights up or the yel-
low piston reaches the red line (7.5 kPa {0.076 kg/cm
2
})
immediately after the cleaning of the outer element, re-
place both inner and outer elements with new ones.
METHOD FOR REPLACING AIR CLEANER ELEMENT
1.
Stop the engine.
2.
Remove the clips (1) (6 places) and remove the cover (2).
3.
Hold the outer element (3), rock it lightly up and down and
to the right and left, and pull the outer element (3) out
while turning it to the right or left.
Do not remove the inner element (4) at this time.
4.
When outer element (3) is removed, check that inner ele-
ment (4) does not come off or incline.
If it is at an angle, push it straight to the bottom with your
hand.
5.
After removing the outer element (3), cover the inner ele-
ment (4) with a clean cloth or tape to prevent dirt or dust
from entering.
6.
Clean the dust sticking inside the air cleaner body (5) and on the cover (2) by using a clean cloth or brush.
