Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause
What to do
Scratches on the
glass surface
Metal abrasion or
other soiling may ap-
pear like scratches.
Glass ceramic is more abrasion resis-
tant than steel. Abrasion marks caused
by this do not represent damage and
can be removed with an appropriate
cleaning agent.
Unsuitable cookwa
-
re is used.
Use cookware with a clean, even and
smooth bottom (see chapter on cook-
ware).
Unsuitable cleaning
agents or utensils
are used.
Only use cleaning agents and utensils
suitable for glass surfaces (see cleaning
chapter).
Some pans or pots
make crackling or
clicking noises.
The cookware
consists of different
metal layers.
The metal layers of the cookware
vibrate differently when heated.
This is harmless and normal.
A slight humming
noise can be heard
when operating at high
power.
This can be caused
by induction tech-
nology.
This is normal, but the noise should
quieten down or disappear completely
by reducing the power level.
Fan noise
A cooling fan integ-
rated in the hob pre-
vents the electronics
from overheating.
If necessary,
it continues to run
even after the hob is
switched off.
This is normal and necessary for error-
free operation. Do not disconnect the
appliance from the power supply while
the fan is running.
To avoid functional restrictions,
ensure that the ambient temperature
is appropriate and that there is good
ventilation.
abnormal fan noise
The cooling fan is
damaged.
