The KI2000 Series Sources, Power Meters and Loss Test Meters are
used to test all types of fiber optic systems, offering exceptional levels
of convenience, productivity and accuracy. Compact, robust and
reliable, these instruments are ideal for field or laboratory use by
installers, technicians and engineers.
Typical Test applications:
Optical attenuation
Optical power
Continuity & polarity, using the test tone features
General quality assurance and acceptance
Construction & maintenance in
Telecom CATV, LAN, R&D.
Full CWDM, DWDM and out of band capability
The Fiber Power Meters are also available with a VFL fault finder, or
large area (XL) detector. The Fiber Light Sources are also available
with a VisiTest red laser. Loss Test Meters are a combination of these
two instruments.
Autotest communicates test data between instruments to automate
loss testing, and is generally compatible with other series of Kingfisher
Autotest instruments.
The instruments feature excellent test accuracy, while the zero warm
up source options provide exceptional source stability for demanding
test situations. The innovative VisiTest option is helpful for general
loss testing, continuity testing and fault finding.
The instruments are simple to operate, with convenient menus to
guide the user through operational sequences. The large, clear,
sunlight readable and backlit LCD is an exceptional feature.
The instrument interchangeable optical connectors are protected by a
dust cover which also flips over to serve as a handy tilt bail. A wide
variety of connector styles are available.
The tough polycarbonate housing has shock absorbing rubber for drop
protection. The very latest materials and methods have been used to
produce an elegant, yet rugged instrument.
These instruments feature excellent battery life: 1000 hours for the
power meter and 80 hours for light source from just 2 x AA alkaline or
NiMh cells.
Instruments can be externally powered or charged via micro USB.
Most users will already have suitable USB chargers to hand, since
they are commonly used on mobile phones and other devices.
Memory and External Software Features
Test results can be stored in the large memory along with text-input
cable name and timestamp, and then dumped onto a USB memory
stick (or a phone micro SD card using a suitable adaptor), via the Type
A USB port. This is a very simple and convenient way to store and
transmit test data from a site. This download method is also
independent of any operating system.
Alternatively, KITS™ reporting software allows real-time instrument
control and data download, and is easily customised to suit most
