Keysight E8740A-070 Start-up Guide
In this example, a Keysight N9029AV12 downconverter is used to down-convert
the generated E band signal back to IF. The IF output is connected to the RF port
of the spectrum analyzer. The N9029AV12 is operated in block conversion mode
at a fixed LO frequency which is provided by another source instrument.
In block conversion mode, the N9029AV12 uses a N=6 LO harmonic factor. In this
set up, we use a source LO source frequency of 12.5 GHz which result in a
effective carrier frequency of 75 GHz, the same as the carrier frequency of the
signal generation system. Hence the IF tones generated by the M8195A appear
at the same frequency on the spectrum analyzer.
The step for calibrating the system are the same as that of the smart mixer. For
example to calibrate a 77 to 81 GHz signal use the following set up in the
Multi-Tone & Noise
dialog as shown in
below.
