LO Source
This group of control allows the user to provide the address and test the source
instrument which is not available in the IQTools Config dialog. The user can also
control the LO source after the parameters have been set by the Assistant.
Image Freq
Separation
( edit box )
The user can state the required image frequency separation of the upper and
sideband spectrum. The assistant will try to meet the requirements based on the
specifications of the upconverter and LO source. However, if it is unable to do
so, it may increase the image separation to meet the equipment specification
and the edit box will turn yellow as a warning.
Enable Burst
( check box )
If this option is checked, the M8195A will create a pulse train. See Figure 11 .
Burst Period
( edit box )
This is the period of the burst cycle.
Number of Pulse
( edit box )
The number of pulses in each burst.
Note that
Number of Pulse x Sweep time <= Burst Period .
Frequency
( edit box )
This edit box displays the LO frequency of the source. The frequency is
calculated by the Assistant based on the FMCW settings. However, the
frequency can be changed by the user after the signal is generated.
Amplitude
( edit box )
The amplitude is set by the Assistant based on the mixer specifications and LO
cable loss. The amplitude can be changed by the user after the signal is
generated but user must be careful not to exceed the power damage level of the
mixer.
VISA Addr
( edit box )
The VISA Address of the compatible source instrument. The Assistant has been
tested with Keysight MXG and PSG. Use Keysight Connection expert application
to check the VISA address of instrument.
Test Connection
( button )
If the VISA address is correct and the source is compatible, the button will turn
green when pressed. During this process, information regarding the source’s
capability will be read from the instrument.
Output
( check box )
Toggles the RF output from the LO source.
LO Cable Loss
( check box )
Key in the value (positive) of the cable loss. The LO source amplitude will be
increased to compensate for this loss.
