Ignore Failure
So-called "Failure" data points exist to communication devices. They show whether communication
with a device is working (value = 0) or not (value = 1). The existing data points are included in the
LED status display for the BACnet gateway, a setting that can be optionally switched off.
The gateway has a real-time clock with battery backup. Because some protocols require the
actual time, the system time has to be synchronised. We recommend the use of automatic time
synchronisation, although not all systems allow the same. Network Time Protocol (NTP) is one
standard for synchronising clocks in internet protocol communication networks.
