Make sure that no me tall ic ob jects are clo se to the coil for in iti al ad -
just ment. Also check your clot hing and espe ci al ly your sho es sin ce
most of them con tain me tall ic parts, and would cause a sig nal re -
spon se any time you step near to the coil.
Turn on the PULSE STAR II PRO by ro ta ting the
PWR VOLUME
switch
clock wise. You should turn it at least halfway to en su re that the vo lu me
is high enough. Both LEDs on the me ter will turn on and stay on for
approximately three se conds whi le the PULSE STAR II PRO ca li bra tes
itself. It is al ways best to check the bat te ry con di ti on first. This is in itia -
ted by hol ding the
MODE
switch down to the
RETUNE
po si ti on for at
least one se cond. The me ter need le will in di ca te the con di ti on of the
bat te ry. The
SAMPLING DELAY
ro ta ry switch should be set to po si ti on
one.
Next, ad just the tic kra te of the PULSE STAR II PRO so mewhe re bet ween
one to five ticks per se cond by hol ding the
MODE
tog gle switch in the
RETUNE
po si ti on whi le si mul ta ne ous ly tur ning the
AUDIO TUNE
knob.
If cir cums tan ces al low, the vo lu me should be tur ned up high enough
for both per sons car ry ing the coil to hear it. This way, the coor di na ti on
is bet ter when try ing to lo ca te the ex act po si ti on of an ob ject.

Once the tic kra te has been ad jus ted, it will be au to ma ti cal ly re -
called each time the PULSE STAR II PRO is tur ned on, or if you use
RETUNE
. This me ans that you do not have to use the
AUDIO TUNE
con trol knob any more, and that pres sing the MODE switch to
RETUNE
from time to time is usu al ly the only ac ti on re qui red whi le
se ar ching.
The PULSE STAR II PRO is now rea dy to use.
