The fol lo wing tab le shows the achie va ble de tec ti on depths for all avail -
able se arch coils as a functi on of ob ject size.
All mea su re ments were made with the
MODE
switch in
NORMAL
po si -
ti on. A cle ar in crea se of the tic kra te and a cle ar me ter rea ding had to
be no ti ced. The
SAMPLING DELAY
switch was in po si ti on 1, and the
ob jects were fa cing with their lar gest sur fa ce to wards the se arch coils.
The tests were made in air with thin iron sheets. Dif fe rent ty pes of me -
tal or dif fe rent ob ject sha pes may al ter the re sults.
