Installation
Braking resistors can develop very high surface temperatures, therefore
attach as contact-proof and as far away as possible from inflammable
materials!
In order to enter the overheating of a braking resistor it is absolutely
necessarily the thermal relay of the braking resistor to be monitored.
Overloads may be caused by:
•
the ramps are too short
•
incorrect dimensioning of the braking resistor
•
the input voltage is being too high
•
defect of the braking resistor in the inverter or braking module
Protection with defective braking transistor offers excluding switching off
the mains voltage (see figure).

Connecting braking resistor
A simplified protection is achieved, if the links of the temperature sensor are
integrated into the temperature detection in accordance with the following
figure. This measure does not protect with a defect of the brake transistor
however against the developing extreme load with acute fire risk.
