is an open source software application written for

the Mac, PC, and Linux. It is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Kaarta uses
CloudCompare extensively to view and edit point clouds generated by Stencil and Contour
products as well as uploads received and processed by our SaaS Website at

uploads.kaarta.com.

You can update the CloudCompare on your Stencil if necessary through the snap interface.

V I S U A L I Z A T I O N B A S I C S

You may have to modify the instructions in this manual depending on whether you are using a
Linux, MAC or Windows version as some of the terminology may be different.

First, load the point cloud in CloudCompare by dragging and dropping the file in the main
CloudCompare window or use File > Open on the top menu bar.

Note

: The order that you load the scalar fields into CloudCompare, will be the same order as the

point cloud file you save from CloudCompare.

After loading the point cloud file into CloudCompare, select the point cloud in the DB Tree
toolbox (on the left side).
