Attn: Severing or modifying the cable between the sensor and the interface box will void the
Velodyne warranty.
Please contact Velodyne or Kaarta for more details. Customers who choose to assume the cost
of non-warranty repairs can modify their Velodyne cable to connect to Stencil 2. Kaarta will not
warrant customer-made cabling that causes damage to Stencil 2 or the lidar.
First, customers need to verify the current wiring of the Velodyne.
Prior to any changes
, please
confirm that the Velodyne metal housing is not shorted to any of the signal wires. Check this by
using an Ohmmeter to check resistance between the metal gland nut on the Velodyne and each
one of the eight signals on the screw terminals in the Velodyne Interface Box. None of these
signals should indicate a short. If they do, please contact Kaarta before proceeding.
