8.1 Concept and control
The concept of the JXM-IO-EW30-G27 is based on the assignment of interfaces to the inputs
and outputs of the device. Each input and output of the device is called a port and can be config-
ured. The function of a port is determined by assigning an interface to it. Any interface contains
parameters, values and a status:

Parameters can be assigned to each interface.
■
Information can be transmitted and set via values to any interface.
■
The status provides information about the status of the interface.
