BEAM VALVE switch
Pressing this switch opens valve V1 (isolation valve between the microscope
column and electron gun chamber).

APERTURE CONTROL
When one of aperture switches (CL, EDS, OL, HC or SA) is depressed, the built-in
lamp lights up and the selected aperture can controlled using the aperture number
select switches (OPEN, 1, 2, 3 or 4) and X, Y shift switches. Aperture control is
impossible when the aperture is not attached to the microscope.

Aperture select switches
CL:
Used to select the condenser aperture assembly.
EDS:
Used to select the hard X-ray aperture assembly.
OL:
Used to select the objective aperture assembly.
HC:
Used to select the high contrast objective aperture assembly.
SA:
Used to select the field limiting aperture assembly.
