4 DESCRIPTION OF CONTROLS
EM210F-1
4-7
SA DIFF switch:
Used for selecting the selected area diffraction mode.
③
SHIFT Y knob
Used for shifting the electron beam in the Y direction by varying the condenser lens
beam deflector coil current. The electron gun 1st beam deflector coil current is
varied when the Align-Gun is selected on the Alignment Panel for Maintenance
screen.
④
DEF-STIG Y knob
Used for varying the Y current in the coil selected by DEF-STIG Y switch or
selected on the Alignment Panel for Maintenance screen.
⑤
MAG/CAM L knob
Used for varying the normal magnification when the FUNCTION-MAG 1 or -MAG
2 switch (R1-
②
) is depressed, the low magnification when the FUNCTION-LOW
MAG switch is depressed. The selected area magnification is varied when the SA
MAG is selected and the camera length is varied when the SA DIFF is selected.
Turning this knob clockwise increases the magnification or camera length and
turning it counterclockwise decreases the magnification or camera length.
⑥
OBJ FOCUS knob
Used for focusing the image by varying the objective lens current (OM lens in case
of LOW MAG mode).
FINE knob:
The amount of current variation when the large knob is
turned minimum.
COARSE knob:
The amount of current variation when the this knob is
turned one notch is the same as when the FINE knob is
turned
16
notches.
CRS Switch:
Turning this switch on enlarges the amount of current
variation per notch by 16 times.
⑦
DIFF FOCUS
Knob:
Used for focusing the selected area image when the
FUNCTION
(R1-
②
) is set to the SA MAG and the
FUNCTION
(R1-
②
) is set to the SA DIFF.
CRS switch:
Turning this switch on enlarges the amount of current
variation per notch of the FOCUS knob by 16 times.
⑧
EXP TIME/PHOTO
EXP TIME knob:
Used for vary the exposure time. Turning this knob
clockwise increases the exposure time and turning it
counterclockwise decreases the exposure time.
AUTO switch:
Depressing this switch lights up the built-in lamp and
selects the automatic exposure mode. Depressing this
switch again selects the manual exposure mode (the
built-in lamp goes out).
PHOTO switch:
By depressing this switch when the lamp is unlit, a film
is advanced to the exposure position, the lamp lights up
when the film reaches the said position, the film is ex-
posed and advanced, and the lamp goes out. By depress-
ing this button when the lamp is lit, that is, when a film
is in the exposure position, the film is exposed.
