STEERING CHAIN MAINTENANCE (A50 AND A100 SELF-
PROPELLED MODELS)
It may be necessary to occasionally tighten the steering chain if it becomes too loose. To tighten
the chain, see
Figure 52 - A50 and A100 Self-Propelled Steering Chain Adjustment
1. Steering Assembly Securing Bolts
– These bolts must be loosened before the chain can
be tightened. Once the chain has been tightened, these bolts should be retightened to their
original torque.
2. Steering Chain Tightening Nut
– Once the bolts are loose, tighten the nut until there is no
more chain slack. Be careful not to over tighten nut.
3. Steering Chain
NOTE – After retightening the chain multiple times, it may be necessary to shorten the
chain. If this is the case, remove the chain, take out the connecting link and cut out the
required number of chain links. Then, reinstall the connecting link and mount the chain
back in place. Follow the steps above to tighten the chain.
