RAC-100 and 200 User’s Manual
Printing and Serial Port (RS-232) Output
The Print feature allows you to output data from the RAC-200 in one of
three ways:
1. Into the JAMAR WinRAC software program. This program is com-
patible with the Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME and XP operating sys-
tems and comes with RS-232 cable, power supply and manual. It has
the following features:
• Reads directly from the RAC-200
• Converts Event Codes to Plain Language text
• Capable of merging multiple surveys together
• Provides extensive color reports and graphs
• Allows real-time data collection from the RAC-200
• Allows direct control of the RAC-200 from a laptop
Refer to the WinRAC manual for information on how to retrieve
data from the RAC-200.
2. Into an independent software program. The data from the RAC-200
can be output to any communications program that has been configured
properly to read the serial port. Refer to the appendix for more infor-
mation on the RAC-200’s RS-232 format.
3. Directly to a printer. Data can be output directly to a printer such as
the DPU-414 Thermal Printer, available from JAMAR. Refer to the
Appendix for Operating Procedures for the DPU-414 printer.
When outputting data to an independent communications program or the
DPU-414 printer, the following Print commands should be used. When
using the WinRAC program, follow the procedures described in the
WinRAC manual.
This command will do a test print us-
ing a complete set of characters, alpha
and numeric.
