DPU-414 Thermal Printer
Operating Procedures
These instructions can be used to conduct surveys and download data us-
ing the DPU-414 Printer. Refer to the printer’s Operation Manual for more
detailed information on the printer.
The DPU-414 Printer is a portable thermal printer that can operate on its
internal rechargeable batteries or from the AC Power Adapter. Used in the
vehicle, you are able to obtain a real-time printout of Event Code, Distance,
Elapsed Time and Speed. With a full charge, the batteries provide power for
approximately 3000 printed lines. When used in the office, it is recom-
mended that you use the AC Power Adapter to extend battery life.
Mobile Operation
Make sure you fully charge the printer batteries before beginning a survey
and turn off the printer when it is not in use.
Step 1 Make sure the POWER switch on both the DPU-414 and the
RAC-200 are in the OFF position.
Step 2 Using the interface cable provided, plug the snap in or 9 pin
connector into the DATA port on the RAC-200 and the 25 pin
"D-type" connector into the top receptacle on the back of the
DPU-414 printer. Two screws on the connector can be tightened
to ensure the connector does not accidently come loose.
Step 3 Turn on the RAC-200 and the DPU-414. The On Line light on
the printer should be lit. To advance the paper, the printer must
be Off Line. Hold down the Feed button, then put the printer
back On Line to print.
Office Operation
Step 1 Connect the RAC-200 and the DPU-414 as described in Mo-
bile Operation.
Step 2 Plug the RAC-200 into the JAMAR Power Supply/Signal Gen-
erator. Plug the AC Power Supply into the printer.
Step 3 Turn on both units. The printer must be Off Line to advance the
paper and On Line for printing.
