Part 7 – Testing Transponder mode
Make sure the “Transponder” channel (CIF and/or IIF) you want to test is set to ENABLE
state. If not, send the suitable “ENABLE/DISABLE” remote command according to the
procedure described in part 1 and 2 of the PM05 procedure. Then with TT801 Deck set,
transmit the tonal pulse interrogation, according to the following procedure.

Select the
TYPE (RT8xx)
of the instrument to be actuated using
SCROLL
key and
confirm the selection by pressing
ENTER
key.

Select the
TRANSMIT TYPE
using
SCROLL
key, either
IIF
or
CIF
and confirm the
selection by pressing
ENTER
key.
3.
Select the transmit frequency
(FREQ
) (from 8.5 up to 16kHz by 0.5kHz increment) using
SCROLL
key then confirm the selection by pressing
ENTER
key
4.
Select the type of recurrence
MANUAL
or automatic (
AUTO
) using
SCROLL
key and
confirm the selection by pressing
ENTER
key.
If Manual is chosen, the RECEIVE SETTINGS display opens (skip to step 6).
5.
If
AUTO
has been chosen in the previous step, then you have to enter the transmission
rate (
RATE)
between 2 and 31s using the numerical keys then press
ENTER
key.
The RECEIVE SETTINGS display opens.
6.
Enter the
TURN AROUND TIME
(Refer to built sheet, beacon turn-around delay from 0
to 200 ms) and press
ENTER
. Use
CLEAR
key to erase a wrong capture.
7.
Enter the TT801 receive parameters according to the reply parameters of transponder:
•
if the type of transmission/interrogation is IIF, you must configure the CRF:
Choose the receive type (
MONO
or
MFSK
) using the SCROLL key then press
ENTER key to confirm.
Choose the
frequency
(8 to 16 kHz) by using the
SCROLL
key or the numerical
key for the
MFSK code number
(0 to 23) of the CRF. Press
ENTER
key.
•
if the type of transmission/interrogation is
CIF
, you must configure the
IRF
:
Choose the receive type (
MONO
or
MFSK
) using the SCROLL key then press
ENTER key to confirm.
Choose the frequency (8 to 16 kHz) by using the SCROLL key or the numerical key for
the MFSK code number (0 to 23) of the CRF. Press ENTER key to confirm.
