This Procedure includes the following:

Installing/ Removing the Swingaway Footrest
Assembly

Swingaway Footrest Height Adjustment

Impact Guards/Calf Strap

Heel Loop Replacement

Elevating Legrest Assembly Installation

Adjusting the Elevating Legrest Assembly

WARNING

After making adjustments, always make sure that
parts are properly tightened BEFORE using the
wheelchair.

NOTE: Refer to Procedure 1 - General Guidelines
which include GENERAL WARNINGS for the 9000SL,
9000XT, 9000XDT, and 9000XT RECLINER.

INSTALLING/REMOVING THE SWINGAWAY
FOOTREST ASSEMBLY (FIGURE 1)

Installing

1. Turn the swingaway footrest assembly to the side

(open footplate is perpendicular to wheelchair).

2. Install the hinge plates on the swingaway footrest

assembly onto the hinge pins on the wheelchair
frame.

3. Push the swingaway footrest assembly towards

the inside of the wheelchair until it locks into place.

4. Repeat this procedure for the other footrest as-

sembly.

NOTE: The footplates will be facing each other
when locked in place.

1. Push the footrest release lever inward

2. Rotate swingaway footrest assembly outward.

3. Lift the swingaway footrest assembly off of the

hinge pins.

SWINGAWAY FOOTREST HEIGHT
ADJUSTMENT (FIGURE 2)

1. Remove the swingaway footrest assembly. Refer

in this procedure of the

manual.

NOTE: Lay the assembly on a flat surface to sim-
plify this procedure.

2. Remove impact guards and/or calf strap, if nec-

essary.

3. Loosen, but do not remove the bolt and locknut

that secure the lower footrest assembly to the
upper footrest support.

4. Reposition the lower footrest assembly to the

desired height.

5. Securely tighten the bolt and locknut.

6. Repeat this procedure for the other footrest, if

necessary.

7. Replace impact guards and/or calf strap, if nec-

essary.

8. Reinstall the swingaway footrest assembly. Refer
