Inserting the Module

Ensure that the Range switch of the unit being installed is the same as that being removed.

Slide the retaining bracket downwards, until it is clear of the side of the I/O module.

Slide the I/O module fully into the enclosure A slight resistance will be felt as the card is inserted in the
PCI connector and the rear face of the I/O unit will be flush with the rear face of the PSU.

Return the retaining bracket to the centre position and tighten.
4.7.4 Drive Carrier Module
4.7.4.1
Removal and Replacement
Caution
Drive spin down
Damage can occur to a drive if it is removed while still spinning. If possible use the operating system to
spindown the drives prior to removal. If this is not possible we recommend that you perform All steps of
the following procedure to ensure that the drive has stopped prior to removal:

Release the carrier handle, by pressing the latch in the handle towards the right
Note
The anti-tamper lock must be off.

Gently withdraw the Drive Carrier module approximately 1 inch (25mm) and wait 30 seconds.

Withdraw the module from the drive bay and fit a replacement module in accordance with the instructions
in Section
2.9, ”Drive Carrier Installation”
