Function and features
The contour sensor uses backlight to compare the contours of an object with refer-
ence contours. Depending on the degree of conformity the test piece is classified as
being good or bad.
Electrical connection
The unit must be connected by a qualified electrician.
Disconnect power before connecting the unit.
Process connection
Connect the supply voltage of 24 V DC according to the wiring diagram of the M12
process connection indicated in the annex (page 39).
Info
When the sensor is switched on for the first time, the green LED for indicating readiness for
operation flashes. This shows that no valid configuration file has been stored in the sensor.
After parameter setting a configuration file is stored on the sensor. The green LED remains on.
If you use an external trigger source such as a diffuse reflection sensor, connect the
trigger signal with the trigger input of the sensor. The external lighting required for
the diffuse reflection mode must be triggered via the trigger output of the sensor.
One of four stored configuration files of the sensor can be selected via two switch-
ing inputs (see annex page 38).
The information about the test result is transmitted via two switching outputs (see
annex page 39).
