Print Resolution
The print resolution values are shown in Dots per Inch (dpi) for Horizontal resolution (print
width) and Vertical resolution (print height).
The printer allows the selection of different vertical and horizontal print intensities: from 150h
x 300v dpi to 600h x 300v dpi when using one nozzle column or 150h x 600v dpi to 600h x 600v
dpi in the case of using both nozzle columns for printing.
The print resolution values (DPI) are displayed in Horizontal resolution (message length) x
Vertical resolution (print head height).
These are just some examples of print intensities that can be configured:
Resolution (dpi)
Nozzle columns of the cartridge
Max print speed (m/min)
150h x 300v
A or B
136
300h x 300v
A or B
68
600h x 300v
A or B
34
150h x 300v
A or B
136
300h x 600v
A and B (Automatically setup)
68
600h x 600v
A and B (Automatically setup)
34
The maximum print speed depends on the horizontal resolution. If the required print intensity
is not in the table above, it is possible to calculate the maximum print speed using this formula:
𝑀𝑎𝑥 𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑡 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑒𝑑 =
20400
𝐻𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑧𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛
𝑚/𝑚𝑖𝑛
Printhead columns:
-
For 300 dpi vertical resolutions, only one nozzles column is used to print (A or B).
-
For 600 dpi vertical resolutions, it is used both columns (A and B).
To select the print intensity, see Chapter Settings > Level 2 >
NOTES
:
-
Depending on the characteristics of the message (variable fields, counters, dates...),
the maximum print speed VS production rate can be reduced due to processing time.
-
Print quality is not guaranteed if the print speed is set higher than those speeds
established in the above table.
-
Double column printing is NOT available when using internal photocells. For 600x300
and 600x600 dpi, either an external encoder or fixed speed must be used.
