non-interactive
method
for
installing
the
ASM
device
drivers
accepts
the
default
values
for
any
window
prompts
that
appear.
You
are
prompted
to
respond
only
if
an
error
occurs
during
installation.

Interactive
The
normal
(interactive)
method
for
installing
the
ASM
device
drivers
prompts
you
with
instructions
and
waits
for
you
to
respond
before
continuing
with
the
installation.
Note:
If
IBM
Netfinity
Director,
IBM
Director,
UM
Services,
or
IBM
Netfinity
Manager
is
running
on
the
server,
stop
the
system-management
application
before
proceeding.
Using
the
non-interactive
method:
Complete
the
following
steps
to
use
the
non-interactive
method.
1.
Open
a
Windows
NT
command
prompt;
then,
type
one
of
the
following
commands:
v
If
the
installation
is
from
a
diskette,
type:
A:\NT\SETUP
-q
(where
A
is
the
drive
letter
assigned
to
the
diskette
drive).
Press
Enter.
v
If
the
installation
is
from
a
CD,
type:
D:\DD\NT\SETUP
-q
(where
D
is
the
drive
letter
assigned
to
the
CD-ROM
drive).
Press
Enter.
2.
Follow
the
instructions
that
appear
in
the
window.
3.
Go
to
Using
the
interactive
method:
Complete
the
following
steps
to
use
the
interactive
method.
1.
Open
a
Windows
NT
command
prompt;
then,
type
one
of
the
following
commands:
v
If
the
installation
is
from
a
diskette,
type:
A:\NT\SETUP
(where
A
is
the
drive
letter
assigned
to
the
diskette
drive).
Press
Enter.
v
If
the
installation
is
from
a
CD,
type:
D:\DD\NT\SETUP
(where

is
the
drive
letter
assigned
to
the
CD-ROM
drive).
Press
Enter.
2.
Follow
the
instructions
that
appear
in
the
window.
3.
Continue
with
Configuring
the
remote
control
password:
If
you
want
to
use
the
remote
control
features
of
the
Remote
Supervisor
Adapter
ASM
Web
interface,
you
must
configure
the
remote
control
password
using
the
Configuration/Setup
Utility
program
that
comes
with
the
server.
This
program
is
part
of
the
basic
input/output
system
(BIOS)
code.
To
set
up
a
remote
control
password,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Start
the
server,
and
watch
the
monitor
screen.
