3. Check the lights on this fan assembly. (“Power-Supply Assembly Lights and Switch”
on page 12 describes these lights and how to see them.)
If the check light is not on, you cannot change the fan assembly; call your
service representative and report the problem.
If the check light is on, change the fan assembly using the procedure in the
following section.
To Change a Fan Assembly
The illustrations in the following instructions show a rack-mounted unit. The steps for
changing a fan assembly in a deskside unit are the same, but the parts are turned
through 90 degrees.
1. Loosen the captive bolt on the failing fan assembly by turning the thumbscrew
counterclockwise.
