Expansion Unit

Units Interconnection

The units must be connected using appropriate cables, according to the system configuration.
Do the following procedure to perform the units interconnection.

FXE Cable Interconnection

The FXE cable interconnection must be performed between the base unit and the expansion
unit, to generate the expansion unit Micro Channel adapter bus. The following figure illustrates
the FXE cable.

The FXE cable interconnection procedure is detailed in the following pages.

1. Before performing the FXE cable interconnection, slide the CPU module out of the base unit

until you are able to operate with the hands near the back plane. It is not necessary to
remove it completely from the unit.
