Instrument Setup
Click
Setup, Read Setup from Instrument serial
Select all settings according to your requirements. The different settings have the following meanings:
Unit
Depending on sensor type and input, different units of measurement are selectable. If you are using
accelerometers, you can select vibration [mm/s RMS] and bearing condition units Spike Energy [gSE].
Velocity is always the first channel, bearing condition the second. Channels 3 and 4 are dependent on
the type of SiViB you are using. SiViB 1501 and 1511 have analogue inputs in line 3 to 6, which could
be used for 0 – 10 V DC or temperature. The type of input is defined by the hardware. Refer to the
nameplate of the instrument and set the input configuration accordingly. SiViB 1502 and 1512 both
have a second input for an accelerometer. Set line 3 for vibration [mm/s] and line 4 for bearing
condition [gSE]. On these type of instruments analogue input 4 is not connected.
Range
Select the required measurement range. Please remember that the values of your reading could be
significantly above normal level in the case of developing defects.
Analogue voltage input is always 0 – 10 V DC.
For temperature sensors, select the sensor type (see nameplate). The range for temperature is 0 –
200 degrees Celsius.
Alarm Set 0
SiViB has 3 alarm outputs A, B and C. You can set an alarm level for each output. The output will
change state if one of the corresponding alarm levels is superseded. For example, use alarm A for
warning and alarm B for shutdown. All alarms can be set over the whole measurement range. The
alarms of the different inputs and units are OR wired to the outputs. This means any of the units could
switch the output when superseded. If you want an output to be effected by only one unit, set the
alarm levels of all other units to maximum for this colon.
