Install
1.
Install engine speed sensor and capscrew on en-
gine. See Figure 24.
2.
Connect electrical connector to engine speed
sensor.
3.
Connect battery and close hood.
Oil Pressure Sensor
Remove
WARNING
Always disconnect the cables at the battery be-
fore you make repairs to the engine. Disconnect
the cable at the negative terminal first. Install a
tag on the battery terminals so that no one con-
nect the cables on the terminals.
1.
Raise hood and disconnect battery.
2.
Disconnect electrical connector from oil pres-
sure sensor.
3.
Remove oil pressure sensor from engine. See
Figure 24.
Install
1.
Install new oil pressure sensor on engine. See
Figure 24.
2.
Connect electrical connector to oil pressure sen-
sor.
3.
Connect battery and close hood.
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor
Remove
WARNING
Always disconnect the cables at the battery be-
fore you make repairs to the engine. Disconnect
the cable at the negative terminal first. Install a
tag on the battery terminals so that no one con-
nect the cables on the terminals.
1.
Raise hood and disconnect battery.
2.
Drain engine coolant from radiator before re-
moving ECT sensor. See section Cooling Sys-
tem - PSI 2.4L Engine 0700SRM1767 for in-
structions.
3.
Disconnect ECT sensor connector from ECT
sensor.
4.
Remove ECT sensor from engine. See Fig-
ure 24.
Install
1.
Install new ECT sensor on engine. See Fig-
ure 24.
2.
Connect ECT sensor connector to ECT Sensor.
3.
Refill radiator with engine coolant. See Peri-
odic Maintenance 8000SRM1774 for coolant
specifications and procedures.
4.
Connect battery and close hood.
Fuel/Water Separator Sensor
Remove
WARNING
Always disconnect the cables at the battery be-
fore you make repairs to the engine. Disconnect
the cable at the negative terminal first. Install a
tag on the battery terminals so that no one con-
nect the cables on the terminals.
1.
Open hood and disconnect battery.
2.
Remove drain plug from bottom of fuel/water
separator sensor and drain water from fuel fil-
ter. Remove and discard O-ring from drain
plug. See Figure 25.
3.
Disconnect sensor from wiring harness.
4.
Remove sensor from bottom of fuel filter ele-
ment body. See Figure 25.
