Replacing the DVD cable
To install the replacement DVD cable, complete the following steps:
Step 1
Route the DVD cable in the server and connect the it to the I/O board, then connect the other
end of the cable to the rear of the DVD housing (see “Internal cable routing and connectors”).
Step 2
Install the memory-card cage (see “Replacing the memory-card cage”).
Step 3
Install the RAID adapter and connect the SAS cable to the RAID adapter (see “Replacing the
RAID adapter carrier and the RAID adapter assembly”).
Step 4
Install the memory cards and memory card fillers (see “Replacing the memory card”).
Step 5
Install the middle fan (see “Replacing the middle hot-swap fan”).
Step 6
Install the top cover bracket (see “Replacing the top-cover bracket”).
Step 7
Install the server top cover (see “Replacing the top cover”).
Step 8
Connect the cables and power cords (see “Connecting the cables” for cabling instructions).
Step 9
Turn on all attached devices and the server.

Removing the RAID adapter carrier and the RAID adapter assembly
Important:
Before you remove the RAID adapter carrier and the RAID adapter assembly
from the server, take the following precautions to save data, firmware, and configuration data:
Before you make changes to disk drives, disk drive controllers (including controllers that
are integrated on the system board), disk drive backplanes, or disk drive cables, back up
all important data that is stored on hard disks.
Before you remove any component of a RAID array, back up all RAID configuration
information.
