1. Set TFTP protocol parameter
2. Set FTP protocol parameter
3. Set XMODEM protocol parameter
0. Return to boot menu
Choose the desired protocol to load Boot ROM.
Step 4: Choose option
1
, that is, choosing TFTP protocol and the system enters the
menu for setting protocol parameters.
Load File name
Switch IP address
Server IP address
Step 5: Enter correct information as needed and the system displays the following
information:
Are you sure to update your bootrom?(Y/N)
Step 6: Type Y and the system starts downloading the file; type N and the system
returns to the download program menu. Take the first case as an example. When
the Boot ROM is successfully downloaded, the terminal prompts this information:
Initializing net....done!
Loading.........................done!
Bootrom is updating now.....................................done!
III. Loading host software
Step 1: Choose option
1
in the Boot menu and the system prompts:
1. Set TFTP protocol parameter
2. Set FTP protocol parameter
3. Set XMODEM protocol parameter
0. Return to boot menu
Enter your choice(0-3):3
Choose the desired protocol to load host software.
The subsequent steps are the same as those for loading Boot ROM, only the
system change the Boot ROM to host software in the prompts.
5.2.4 Using FTP and through Ethernet Port
I. FTP overview
Through the Ethernet port, the switch can serve as FTP server or client. It provides
the user with another way to download the system application and configuration files.
Take the switch as an FTP client as an example for further explanation.
