4.23.2 Linux
Using an SUSE9 SP3 AS as an example, this section introduces the procedure for using a volume
on an AS.
Prerequisite
NOTE
For an AS installed with another type of Linux, make proper adjustment according to the actual situation
in the procedure.
Procedure
Step 1
Log in to the Linux AS as user
root
.
Step 2
Check whether the AS is installed with the UltraPath.
Enter:
rpm
—q
UPforLinux
l
If the following information is displayed, it indicates that the AS is not installed with the
UltraPath.
package UPForLinux-11.01.01.T06-1 is not installed
l
If the following information is displayed, it indicates that the AS is installed with the
UltraPath.
UPForLinux-11.01.01.T06-1
NOTE
Used as an example here,
11.01.01.T06-1
is the version of the UltraPath. The actual version of the UltraPath
may be different.
Step 3
Enable the interface service of the corresponding AS.
l
The port type is iSCSI.
–
The UltraPath is not installed.
Enter:
/etc/init.d/iscsi restart
To start the iSCSI service and scan newly-mapped volumes.
–
The UltraPath is installed.
Enter:
/etc/init.d/iscsi restart
To start the iSCSI service.
Then enter:
hot_add
To scan volumes that can be identified.

The port type is FC.
