12 Hardware
This menu item provides a tree hierarchy with allows the user to monitor the status of installed
hardware components.
At the top level are the couplets and network switches that have been installed.

The + sign indicates there are lower-level elements associated with an item; click to expand
the hierarchy.

Select an item in the hierarchy to
view
its details. Actions are available as buttons on some
hardware elements.

Hardware element fields
All elements in the hardware hierarchy have the following fields. If a field is not relevant for a
particular element, it is left blank.
Value
Name
This is the device ID, for example B6000 for the top-level
unit.
DevID
This is the serial number. Note: when contacting HP
Support on warranty issues, use the bundled serial number
Serial Number
for your configuration found on the toe tag, do not use the
serial numbers on the GUI. See the Troubleshooting chapter
for more information.
This is the unique ID and is normally the same as the device
ID.
UUID
This is the firmware version of the hardware element.
Firmware Version
This is the is hardware component name for external
reference, for example Memory Module.
Name
This is the type, for example DIMM for a Memory Module.
Type
This is the vendor, for example HP for the couplet, but
unspecified for the temperature sensors within it.
Vendor
This is the system name, B6000 System, which is only
relevant at the top level of Hardware.
